Commemorating UN Public Service Day Online

To commemorate United Nations Public Service Day, the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs together with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea is organizing a virtual event on UN Public Service Day, 23 June, and hosting an outreach and resource platform from 15-30 June. The event and outreach will honour the work of public servants globally and focus on the critical role frontline public servants have been playing in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. The high-level live panel discussion on 23 June will bring together representatives of the United Nations and the World Health Organization, leaders and public servants from cities and countries tackling the pandemic, as well as representatives of organizations working directly with frontline public servants. This website will be open from 15 to 30 June to honour public servants’ fight against COVID-19 as well as the broader work public servants carry out to ensure effective public service delivery, as demonstrated by the initiatives of 2020 United Nations Public Service Award Winners.
